Terms and Conditions

1. Scope

These terms govern the use of the PassWard application (“the App”) distributed via Google Play Store and Apple App Store by Im.Ka.Vu.. By installing and using the App, the user accepts these terms in full.

2. License

The developer grants the user a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on their personal devices. The App is licensed, not sold. All intellectual property rights, including but not limited to source code, design, trademarks, and documentation, remain the exclusive property of Im.Ka.Vu.

3. Versions

The App is available in the following versions:

• Free version — limited to 5 passwords
• Pro version — unlimited passwords, one-time purchase
• Beta version — unlimited passwords, 30-day trial via promo code

4. User Responsibilities

The user is solely responsible for:

• Their master password — the developer has no way to recover or reset it
• The 12-word recovery code — must be written on paper and kept in a safe place
• Regular encrypted backups of the vault

The developer has no access to the user's vault, passwords, or any data stored in the App.

5. No Data Collection

The App has no INTERNET permission and cannot communicate with any server. No data is collected, transmitted, or shared. The developer has no access to user data under any circumstances.

6. No Warranty

The App is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied. The developer does not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the App, including but not limited to:

• Loss of passwords or data due to forgotten master password or lost recovery code
• Loss of data due to device failure, theft, or damage
• Any unauthorized access to the vault file obtained through means outside the App

8. Cryptographic Notice

The App uses AES-256-GCM encryption and Argon2id key derivation. The user acknowledges that:

• Without the master password or 12-word recovery code, data cannot be recovered by anyone, including the developer
• The security of the vault depends on the strength of the master password
• The kill switch (15 failed attempts) permanently revokes the authentication method used

9. Backups

The encrypted backup feature exports a file that is readable only with the master password or recovery code. The user is responsible for storing backup files securely. The developer has no access to any backup.

10. Modifications

The developer reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Updates will be published on this page. Continued use of the App after changes have been posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Italian law and the courts of Aosta, Italy have exclusive jurisdiction. For EU consumers, mandatory consumer protection laws of the consumer's country of residence apply.
